THE FOUNDER
Dr. Anthony L. Byrd, Sr., is a native of Toledo, Ohio. He is the husband of
Dr. Jeaneal L. Byrd, a blessed, anointed, highly favored woman of God and the founder of Grace 4' Me Ministries. The Lord has blessed them with five wonderful sons; three of whom are also in the ministry. Pastor Byrd accepted Christ and was baptized at the age of nine, accepted the call to the ministry in 1987, and answered the call to pastor the First Baptist Church of Elwood, Kansas, in 1993, where he currently serves as the undershepherd. Pastor Byrd is the spiritual father of twenty-seven sons and daughters in the ministry.
He has attended Western Baptist Bible College, (Topeka, Ks.) Carver Baptist Bible Institute, (K.C., Mo.) Heart of America Christian College and Theological Seminary, (K.C., Mo.) and Ambassadors of Faith College and Seminary, (St. Joseph, Mo.). God has blessed him to obtain his Bachelors in Ministry, a Masters in Theology and a Doctorate in Theology. He also served as an instructor at Ambassadors of Faith College and Seminary.
Pastor Byrd comes from a family of well-known singers, songwriters, recording artists, musicians, preachers and pastors. He serves as the Vice-Moderator of the Northeastern District Association of Kansas, and Director of Music for both the Missionary Baptist State Convention of Kansas, and the Northeastern District Association of Kansas. He also has a Radio and TV broadcast ministry called “Gird up with the Word” which has been heard weekly in the St. Joseph - Kansas City area, as well as other regions throughout the country. He believes in spreading the good news of the Gospel that the lost may be saved and that the saved may be equipped.
THE WORD
Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path (Ps.119:105). The Word of God will keep you, lead you, guide you, and give you Godly wisdom. It is our offensive weapon against the enemy. It is the sword of the Spirit (Eph. 6:17), and it is sharper than any two-edged sword (Heb. 4:12). It is through the Word of God that we are introduced to Jesus who is the Word that was with God from the beginning (St. Jn. 1:1); who is the living Word that became flesh and dwelt among us (St. Jn. 1:14). Jesus declared in the Word that "I am the Way the Truth and the Life; no man comes to the Father but by Me" (St. Jn. 14:6). He came to seek and to save that which was lost (St. Lk. 19:10). Jesus sacrificed His life that we might be saved from our sins; He rose from the dead on the third day conquering death, hell and the grave. The Word teaches us in Romans 10:9, "that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." The Word will never go out void, but will accomplish what it was purposed to do (Isa. 55:11). The Word will not only change your life, but will lead you to new life everlasting.
